I joined the facebook group Zentangle Artist Trading Card Swap, and the first swap I joined is for word tiles—totally appropriate!
I lettered the word “breathe” on a dozen tiles I cut from watercolor paper, and then did a color wash around the word. It took about a week of evenings to finish tangling all the tiles. I proceeded to have a great time playing with all the different sets of Sakura gel pens I have accumulated in the last couple of years. Really fun!
Below are the individual tiles that went out, with the tangles listed in the captions (will appear when you hover over them). Mostly for my benefit, I can never remember what I did. (Click to embiggen the images.)
Supplies: Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Water-Resistant Artists Ink in Velvet Violet, Caran d’Ache watercolor pastels (I don’t love them, I just have them around), Sakura blue micron, Sakura gel pens (moonlight, stardust, glaze & plain color—You can do watercolor techniques with the gel pens if you start painting right after applying color.)
